ITV News has announced today that Rachel Corp has been appointed as Editor of ITV News London. Currently Head of Home News, Corp will be responsible for editorial direction of the award-winning regional news programme, working closely with Editor Geoff Hill and alongside the ITV Regions, to build on its reputation for distinctive content.
Rachel takes the helm at ITV News London with an impressive catalogue of experience behind her. Since her appointment as Head of Home News in January 2014, she has skilfully navigated a complex newsgathering operation throughout Election 2015, winning the coveted Royal Television Society award for Home News along the way, for ITV News’s ongoing coverage of the jihadi terror story.
Of her new role, Rachel said: “I’m thrilled to be given the opportunity to lead the hugely talented ITV News London team. I’m looking forward to telling the stories that matter most to Londoners and getting under the skin of the many lives, cultures and communities that shape our capital. It’s a fantastic challenge – celebrating the city as well as championing its people.”
Rachel started her career at ITN as a trainee, spending time at 5News as part of the BAFTA award-winning launch team, before taking up the roles of North of England and Senior Field Producer, covering major stories in the UK and abroad, from Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq, to the Hutton Inquiry and the Soham murders. Following a spell as the BBC’s Senior Moscow Producer, she returned to ITV News as a News Editor, before a promotion to Deputy Head of Home News and most recently, Head of Home News.

ITV News London won the coveted Royal Television Society Nations & Regions News Programme of the Year in 2012, as well as two consecutive Amnesty International Awards in 2012 and 2013.
