ITN Source, the world’s leading provider of professional video content, has completed an agreement which will allow entertainment news picture agency WENN to license still images from the incredible ITN stills library to its global customer base. The deal gives WENN the rights to license over 12 million iconic images from the British Pathe and ITN news libraries contained in the ITN stills collection.
The partnership signifies an exciting new opportunity for both companies. WENN, the world’s premier entertainment news network provides the very latest, up-to-the-minute entertainment news and photos, to newspapers, magazines, radio stations, television networks, websites and telecoms companies worldwide. With news stories dating back to 1896, including entertainment, celebrity, royalty, fashion, historical events, politics, sport and more, ITN Source’s stills library will offer WENN’s customers diverse and iconic stills content for a simple one-off fee.
The ITN stills library features authentic images captured directly from film and video. The original footage has then been transcoded second by second to form high resolution picture files (printable at 300 dpi up to post card size and 150 dpi at A5), allowing the user the unique opportunity to choose the exact frame they require. Stills will continue to be available directly through the ITN Stills website – www.itnstills.com
Sue Thexton, Managing Director, ITN Source, said: ‘We are delighted to have completed this deal with WENN which represents another significant global partnership for ITN Source. WENN’s customer base will now be able to enjoy easy access to the exclusive and unique photographic content from our remarkable ITN stills library, and WENN’s specialist team will introduce the international creative markets to our extraordinary stills content.’
Lloyd Beiny, CEO, WENN, said: ‘ITN is one of the most respected news organisations in the world and the ITN Source archive is one of the most comprehensive I have encountered. WENN has a proven infrastructure encompassing a most successful route-to-market for photo assets and I am very confident the synergy between ITN Source and WENN will present all concerned with exciting global opportunities.’
