ITN Productions is producing bespoke World Cup tournament content for ITV which will form an integral part of the broadcaster’s red button coverage, ITV Sports Extra.
Launching on 11th June, ITN Productions will produce two World Cup News bulletins every evening throughout the tournament at 7pm and 1030pm. The three minute bulletins will feature a round up of tournament news including the latest results, game highlights and a look ahead to upcoming fixtures.
The sports news programmes will be presented by a team of well known personalities including former Setanta Sports News, London Tonight and Sky News presenter Alex Hyndman.
Mark Browning, Managing Director, ITN Productions said:
“This is a fantastic example of how ITN Productions brings content and brands together. This will be compelling content which complements the key fixtures in the programme schedule. With a talented production and presenter team in place I have no doubt that ITV Sports Extra will be the number one destination for audiences to get the latest tournament news.”
Ann Cook, Director of Interactive ITV said: “We have a lot planned behind the red button for World Cup 2010. ITV Interactive have worked closely with ITN Productions to ensure that the tournament is brought to life for red button users. World Cup Extra – with daily news bulletins and interviews – is an exciting addition to ITV’s World Cup activity which does just that.”
The ITV Sports Extra agreement expands on ITN’s other sports offerings which includes YouTube Sports channel and Sports app on iPhone, as well as a World Cup News and team profiles package available on the Outdoor Sports Channel.
ITV Sports Extra will be available until the end of the World Cup tournament on 11th July.Back to All Press Releases
