Two of the biggest users of the controversial PIP breast implants have made a u-turn in their stance against free removal.
Transform Cosmetic Surgery Group and The Hospital Group have announced on their websites that they will take out the faulty implants free of charge.
However they have not gone so far as to offer free replacement implants.
Transform said in its statement: "For any patient who so wishes who had PIP implants at Transform since 1st January 2001, we will undertake free implant removal."
It added that customers could have a free scan "for immediate peace of mind".
