Fabio Capello has been chased down a railway platform and given a "Golden Tapir" award by a satirical Italian TV show.
A reporter from Striscia la Notizia - a popular satirical news programme - followed Capello along a railway platform in Lugano, Switzerland, in order to award him the trophy.
The prize is given to celebrities or politicians who suffer a fall from grace or public humiliation, but Capello seemed to take the dubious honour in his stride.
Upon congratulating him on his "escaping" England, Capello corrected the reporter: "No. I did not escape."
"I've got to tell you one thing. I left because there was a misunderstanding. But I also have to tell you another thing. I can't talk about it."
Capello left the England team on Saturday after meeting FA chairman David Bernstein and general secretary Alex Horne at Wembley stadium.
The meeting came after the FA stripped John Terry of the captaincy pending the Chelsea defender's trial for allegedly racially abusing Queens Park Rangers' defender Anton Ferdinand - a decision made without Capello's consent.
