ITN Productions has agreed a significant deal with News International to produce fast-turnaround digital clips coverage of the Barclays Premier League.
Starting this August, ITN Productions, the creative hub of ITN, will package clips of key moments in-game, at half-time and full-time for The Sun, The Times and The Sunday Times online and mobile platforms. The deal agreed between ITN and News International covers the 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16 Barclays Premier League seasons for which News International secured the online and mobile rights earlier this year, and will amount to ITN Productions delivering around 9,500 clips every season.
An ITN production team of up to 15 will package up to eight 30-second clips of goals, sendings off and key moments for every Barclays Premier League match and collaborate with the in-house team at News International to publish them in a matter of minutes. ITN Productions will also produce longer clips from each game from a matchday weekend and supplementary content such as archive-rich features and studio-based shows.
The ITN Productions team will be overseen by Editorial Director Chris Shaw and led by Sports Editor Raj Mannick.
“This is a big strategic win for ITN Productions that builds on the sports production credentials we’ve already built up with our work for ITV Sport and SNTV,” said Mark Browning, Managing Director of ITN Productions. “The Barclays Premier League is as big as it gets for sport in this country, and working with News International on the crown jewels in online and mobile rights firmly positions us in the sports production space. Our investment in production excellence and fast-turnaround publishing capability has paid off and we’re looking forward to delivering an incredibly fast and exciting service that will give football fans something to cheer about, whoever they support.”Back to All Press Releases
