EMI denies delay to artists' albums
EMI has denied it is delaying the release of some albums after Starsailor said they too don't know when their CD will hit the shops.
The group's comments come just days after Lily Allen hit out at the label on her blog, saying her album was yet to be released because of staff redundancies.
Starsailor frontman James Walsh said: "It's funny, because I was reading Lily Allen's comments about EMI delaying her album and it made me laugh because we're in a very similar situation.
"We're waiting for EMI to give us a release date as well, but it's looking like January for the single and February for the album."
An EMI spokesperson said: "The band are just doing some mixing and then release dates will be confirmed."
EMI was bought by Terra Firma last year for £3.2 billion resulting in nearly 2,000 job losses.
Starsailor's next album will be the follow-up to On the Outside.
