High School Musical 3 director Kenny Ortega has said the last moments of shooting the film were very sad.

The movie has just been released in UK cinemas and there are currently no other plans to film another.

"I love these kids very much and had so much fun working with them, watching them grow as people" - Kenny Ortega

Director Kenny Ortega said filming the last instalment was emotional: "As those days started to wind down not only were the characters graduating but the cast was graduating into their lives and their careers.

"For me I felt kind of parental - what it feels like when you suddenly let go of the one you love and you surrender them to the world and trust they're going to be ok.

"I love these kids very much and had so much fun working with them, watching them grow as people."
