Blonska could lose Olympic silver

Ukrainian athlete Lyudmila Blonska could be kicked out of the Olympics because reports claim she has failed a drugs test.

It is understood Blonska tested positive for an anabolic steroid. She has already served a two-year ban for a drugs offence.

Blonska finished second in the heptathlon and Great Britain's Kelly Sotherton called for a lifetime Olympic ban for drugs cheats after the competition.

An International Olympic Committee statement read: "The IOC does not comment, or provide information, on any doping cases until a decision is made by either the disciplinary commission or executive board."

If Blonska's positive test is confirmed, she will be stripped of her silver medal and lose her place in the long jump final.

She will also have her accreditation for the Games withdrawn.
