Coulthard to quit Formula One

Formula One driver David Coulthard has confirmed he will retire at the end of the season.

The 37-year-old is the oldest driver on the grid this season and he has competed in more than 200 Grands Prix.

"I have an open mind as to whether or not I will compete again in the future" - David Coulthard

He plans to carry on working for his current team Red Bull when he quits competition.

Coulthard said: "I will remain actively involved in the sport as a consultant to Red Bull Racing focusing on testing and development of the cars.

"I have an open mind as to whether or not I will compete again in the future, in some other form of motorsport, so I am definitely not hanging up my helmet."

Since Coulthard moved into Formula One in 1994, he has won 13 races.
