Owner confirms Hughes's job is safe
Manchester City's big-spending new owner insists Mark Hughes will remain as the club's manager.
Sulaiman Al-Fahim has already provided the funds to break the British transfer record to sign Brazil striker Robinho from Real Madrid and he has suggested he will try to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, Fernando Torres and Cesc Fabregas.
But he is keen to keep Hughes, who moved from Blackburn Rovers in the summer.
Al-Fahim said: "The coach Mark Hughes will stay, the chairman will stay and the technical staff will stay as it is.
"We started negotiating to buy some more players but the transfer window was our last chance to sign Robinho and we were able to obtain him and we were lucky to be able to do that.
"The coach will choose the players and we as investors will assess his choices, their abilities and their financial costs."
