Bent earns first point for Spurs

Tottenham striker Darren Bent denied Chelsea their third straight Premier League win as the teams drew 1-1 at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea defender Juliano Belletti played in midfield and he opened the scoring by diverting a cross from Deco past Heurelho Gomes.

Bent levelled the scores just before half-time

But Bent levelled the scores when he pounced on a loose ball and slipped the ball past Petr Cech just before half-time.

And the goal could even improve Bent's chances of playing for England because Fabio Capello was watching from the stands.

Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov was left out once again and he is expected to complete a move to Manchester United before the transfer deadline on Monday night.

Spurs have completed the signing of Roman Pavlyuchenko from Spartak Moscow and that appears to have paved the way for Berbatov to leave.
