Teenager stabbed to death
A 16-year-old boy has been stabbed to death in Newcastle.
Police were called to a house in the Throckley area of the city where the body of the teenager was discovered.
A 16-year-old has been arrested and is being questioned by detectives from Northumbria Police.
"As a result of information received, police attended a house in the Hallow Drive area of Throckley where a teenager was found dead," said a police spokesman.
"He has not yet been formally identified but he is believed to be around 16 years of age.
"A full murder investigation was launched and detectives work to establish the full circumstances leading up to the teenager's death."
Officers are appealing to witnesses who were in the area to come forward.
The death is the second fatal stabbing of a teenager in Newcastle in the past two weeks.
Mark Smith, 16, of St John's Walk, died in Elswick Road on May 3. A 16-year-old youth has been charged with his murder.
