Perry to host MTV Europe awards

Katy Perry will host this year's MTV Europe Music Awards being held in the UK next month.

The 23-year-old singer is up for two trophies herself, Best New Act and Most Addictive Track for her song I Kissed A Girl.

Beyonce Knowles, Pink, Duffy, The Killers and Pamela Anderson's ex Kid Rock will also take to the stage.

The star-studded bash is being staged at Liverpool's Echo arena on November 6.

Other presenters at the 15th MTV awards include members from the girl band Sugababes including Aintree singer Heidi Range.

Beyonce Knowles, Pink, Duffy, The Killers and Pamela Anderson's ex Kid Rock will also take to the stage.

Coldplay, Duffy and Britney Spears lead the nomination list. They all have three nods whilst Rihanna, Miley Cyrus and Jonas Brothers are among other artists up for EMA statues.

Battling for the Act of 2008 are four strong females - Rihanna, Amy Winehouse, Leona Lewis and Britney - and Coldplay.

Katy Perry, Coldplay, Duffy, Kid Rock and Pink compete for best track of the year.

Rock legends The Cure, Foo Fighters and Metallica are also up for MTV Europe Music Awards.
