Kenny Miller scored twice against his former club as Rangers thumped Celtic 4-2 in a bad-tempered Old Firm game at Parkhead.

Daniel Cousin gave Rangers the lead late in the first half when he dribbled forward and fired past Artur Boruc from a narrow angle.

Both teams ended the game with ten men

Georgios Samaras equalised before half-time when he pounced on a mistake by Rangers defender Madjid Bougherra to score from close range.

Miller put Rangers back in front early in the second half with a volley from just inside the penalty area and Pedro Mendes made it 3-1 with a long-range volley from a Steven Davis corner.

Both teams were reduced to ten men when Cousin was sent-off for a second bookable offence and Celtic substitute Jan Vennegoor of Hesslink was dismissed for violent conduct.

Miller guaranteed victory for Rangers when Celtic goalkeeper Boruc failed to hold on to a cross and the striker swept the ball home and Shunsuke Nakamura pulled a goal back for Celtic with a long-range free-kick in injury-time.
