Two injured in Silverstone ride scare
Two people were injured after falling from a ride at a funfair held for the British Grand Prix.
One of the men was unconscious when paramedics arrived at the fairground, situated opposite the race circuit entrance in Silverstone, Northamptonshire.
He was taken to Northampton General Hospital with head injuries, Northamptonshire Police said.
The second man was "walking wounded" and suffered minor injuries.
The scene off Dadford Road has been secured while Silverstone Circuits conduct an investigation.
A police spokesman said: "The scene has been secured in order that Silverstone Circuits can conduct an investigation into this incident."
He added: "The site of the incident is outside the circuit and will have no impact on the staging of today's Formula One race."
British driver Lewis Hamilton lines up fourth on the grid for his home Grand Prix and is confident about his chances of winning the race.
