Michael Jackson honoured at footprint ceremony

Fri Jan 27 2012 15:53

Michael Jackson's three children have pressed their famous father's shoes and sequined glove into cement outside Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles to pay tribute to the singer.

Prince, Paris and Blanket were joined by other members of the Jackson family, as well as stars such as Quincy Jones and Justin Bieber.

Bieber, who sang a few lines of the Jackson 5 song Rockin' Robin, said he was honoured to be a part of the ceremony.

He said: "People are going to remember him for his dancing and his singing, but people have to remember him for being the man that he was. So I think everybody right now should give Michael a round of applause."

The event included a performance by the cast of Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour, a Cirque du Soleil show that opens in Los Angeles on January 27.

Jackson, 50, died June 25, 2009, from an overdose of the powerful anesthetic Propofol.
