Thousands of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip took to the streets on Wednesday evening to celebrate a truce between Hamas and Israel.
The truce was announced by Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr as the agreement was reached in the Egyptian capital of Cairo.
Gazans honked their car horns and fired celebratory shots into the air. They also marched to Shiffa Hospital to visit the wounded.
The last Israeli airstrike and the last rocket fired by the Hamas armed wing both occurred at around 20:55, Wednesday, local time.
It marked the end of a bloody eight day conflict that killed more than 140 Palestinians and five Israelis.
