Novak Djokovic gained revenge for his US Open final defeat with a thrilling triumph at the Shanghai Masters that saw Andy Murray waste five championship points.
The Serbian managed to scrape through in the second set, breaking when Murray was serving for the match and then winning a remarkable tie-break 13-11.
The world number two broke the Scot's resolve in the decider to claim a 5-7 7-6 (13/11) 6-3 victory in three hours 21 minutes.
It was two-time defending champion Murray's first defeat in Shanghai in 13 matches, he had beaten world number one Roger Federer in the semi finals of the tournament.
