Huge forest fires hit Turkey-Syria border

Report by Sam Datta-Paulin

Turkish firefighters are struggling to contain a raging forest fire on the Syrian border.

The blaze began inside Syria and spread accross the border, destroying hundreds of acres of forest through which refugees have been trying to flee fighting in the area.

Several major fires have recently broken out in Syria and spread towards Turkey unchecked, with Syrian authorities allegedly more concerned with tackling blazes caused in the country's civil war.

Over 200 emergency workers have been attempting to control the fire, which has seen several villages evacuated.
