Over 2,000 people have been evacuated as forest fires sweep through Spain's Valencia.

The fire, which has affected six municipalities in the area of Los Serranos has a front of between ten and 11 kilometres.

Over 600 fire-fighters and 31 air personnel were working to extinguish the blaze in different locations of the region, with three centres having been set up to assist evacuees.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fires.
