Queues around the world to buy the iPhone 5

Report by Genelle Aldred

There were queues from Singapore to Australia and the US as Apple put their iPhone 5 on sale on Friday morning.

The iPhone 5 has won rave reviews from tech bloggers and other reviewers who were given the faster, slimmer and lighter smartphone ahead of its release to customers.

It is already the fastest selling iPhone with 2 million bought in the first 24 hours of presales.

An Iphone fan, Tahsin Alam, said he was impressed by Apple's latest offering.

"I just played around for five minutes. Its super fast. The first thing you notice is that it's very light. I have the 4G. And it's way lighter. And even if its taller, you don't feel that its bigger because the form factor is really good. Like it so far," he said.

This is also the first time Apple have allowed reseller to sell their product on the same day as the official store.
