Indonesia's Mount Gamalama volcano has erupted, showering the nearby city of Ternate with ash.
The head of the Gamalama observation post said a second eruption in a week caused the ash to spew more than 1,000m into the air.
Television pictures showed a smog on the roads due to the ash.
Indonesian authorities have said there is no current need to evacuate but they are providing masks to affected communities.
Those living in areas which have been hit by ash have been advised to stay at home.
