The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued an alert off the central American coast early on Monday morning, following a strong earthquake off the coast of El Salvador.
A small wave reportedly hit the port of Acajutla following the 7.4 magnitude quake, which struck on Sunday about 78 miles offshore.
The tsunami warning covered the coastal areas of El Salvador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, Panama and Mexico.
The center stressed that no destructive Pacific-wide tsunami was expected.
