A man led police on a chase through the streets of Miami, Florida and then tried to flee on foot before police caught up with him.

Aerial footage showed the car weaving through traffic with the police in pursuit, then crashing into a chain-link fence.

When cornered by the police, the driver jumped out of the car- officers then fired shots at him.

The man was taken to hospital by ambulance.

At least three other people were pulled out of the vehicle and taken into custody by authorities.
