Ecuador's Tungurahua volcano spewed lava and ash into the sky this week.

Local authorities have evacuated the population living in the surrounding areas of the volcano.

The volcano showed no signs of ceasing its activity overnight and continued erupting on Wednesday morning.

The Tungurahua volcano has been in an active state since October 1999.
