Firefighters in Spain are continuing to battle wildfires which have swept through the western region of Alicante and parts of the Canary Islands.
The hottest weekend of the summer season sparked dozens of blazes, forcing thousands of people from their homes, although the most popular coastal resorts have not been badly affected.
At least two emergency workers died tackling the blazes, which have destroyed at least 3,000 hectares in La Gomera in the Canary Islands, and over 50,000 hectares so far this year.
Thousands were evacuated in Valencia in July, also a popular tourist area, while four French people also died in July as fires hit the border area between Catalonia and France.
