Footage has been released of a SeaWorld trainer dragged underwater by a killer whale for eight minutes.

The video, from San Diego, shows Ken Peters thrashed around by Kasatka the whale during a live performance.

Peters survived but suffered puncture wounds to both feet and a broken metatarsal ligament in his left foot.

The video which is from 2006 is now being used in an investigation of safety violations at SeaWorld.
