Wedding party's cars plunge into river as bridge collapses

Report by Sophie Foster

Members of a wedding party have had a lucky escape after their cars fell into a river when a bridge collapsed in east China's Shandong Province.

One vehicle was washed downstream and another became wedged in the riverbed after heavy rains caused subsidence under the bridge.

Emergency crews hurried to the scene to rescue the driver from the car, winching him through the sun roof to safety.

He was treated for fractures and head trauma in hospital.
