A scooter driver has had a narrow escape after her bike was crushed by a truck in Ningbo City, east China.

The woman on the scooter had run a red light when she was clipped by a truck which, in turn, was speeding to pass a light which was about to change.

The truck driver swerved when he saw the woman, who managed to leap from the scooter a split second before it was hit.

She was thrown to the ground but escaped uninjured - the scooter took the full impact of the truck and was demolished.
