The Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd. (COMAC) has showcased its C919 aircraft at the Farnborough International Airshow 2012.
It is the country's first homegrown single-aisle passenger jet and its designers say it will reduce pollutant emissions by half and consume 13 per cent less fuel.
So far, COMAC has received more than 280 orders for its C919 and the model on show at Farnborough attracted lots of interest.
According to designers, the C919 will be 38.9 metres long and 11.95 metres high.
Its wingspan will be 35.8 metres.
The Farnborough International Airshow, which runs until July 15, is expected to attract 250,000 visitors.
