Investigators, who have been probing the Air France Rio de Janeiro to Paris crash, have concluded that a combination of pilot error and faulty speed sensors were to blame.

The disaster took place three years ago, killing 228 people on board.

A final report by the BEA, France's air accident investigator, recommended a series of actions on training and cockpit design to try to avoid anything like this occurring in the future.

For the past three years pilots, Air France and the makers of the plane, Airbus, have been involved in a series of battles over who was to blame for the crash.
