A four-year-old girl has been successfully rescued from a ten-metre-deep dry well in China's Xiaoyi City.

The child fell down the well, which was only 50 centimetres in diameter, at an abandoned construction site while her parents were distracted.

Firefighters fastened a rope to the girl and slowly winched her to safety.

A medical team immediately treated the child, who fortunately only sustained minor scratches and bruises.
