Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guard have test-fired several ballistic missiles, including a long-range variety that are intended to dissuade the US and Israel from attacking the country.
The official IRNA news agency said the surface-to-surface missiles successfully hit their targets, travelling distances of up to 800 miles.
Iran has tested a variety of missiles in previous so-called war games, including a Shahab-3 variant with a range of 1243 miles that can reach Israel and southern Europe.
General Hossein Salami, who was overseeing the operation, said: "The main goal of this war game is to demonstrate the political will of the Muslim nation of Iran to the world, in defending its vital values and national interests in a symbolic way by firing the missiles."
