Tropical storm batters parts of China

Report by Lisa Snell

Torrential rain continues to batter southern and eastern China, triggering floods and landslides.

One mudslide blocked a tunnel and halted the traffic on the National Highway in Fuyang City in Zhejiang.

Cars eventually got moving after hours of repair work.

Classes have been suspended at local schools as water reached as deep as 300ml.

Cities including Jiaxing, Taizhou and Lanxi were also flooded, with local authorities launching emergency plans to help farmers drain water out of their farmlands.
