A gang in Romania have been arrested after attempting to steal the contents of a lorry whilst the vehicle was speeding along a motorway in the dark.

Footage captured by Romania's Department for Organised Crime and Terrorism show two members of the gang climb through the sun roof of their car while tailgating the truck.

One of the men then moves onto the bonnet, whilst the other holds his legs. Having successfully opened the doors of the lorry, the man appears to decide against taking its contents, instead retreating back into the car.

Police say the gang have stolen coffee, cigarettes and televisions in similar operations between March and May this year, which they then sell in the capital Bucharest.
