An Australian livestock truck dramatically crashed and flipped on a bridge spilling its content of sheep onto a busy highway below.

A witness said: "First of all we looked up and we could see the truck flip on its side and then the next minute we were underneath and it rained sheep."

The accident left several cars damaged as the animals fell through windscreens and several motorists crashed trying to avoid the scene.

Many of the sheep were killed as they fell.

Emergency crews said it was "miraculous" nobody had died or were seriously injured.
