Jessica Ennis revealed the women who she has found to be inspirational this year are her fellow London 2012 athletes, Victoria Pendleton, Nicola Adams and Ellie Simmonds.

The heptathlete was attending the Harper's Bazaar Women of the Year Awards 2012, in association with Estee Lauder, Harrods and Tiffany & Co., which was celebrating "the women who have defined 2012".

She also admitted she enjoys getting dressed up for these kind of events.

"It's nice because I spend so much of my time in my training kit, which is great, but it is nice to put a nice dress on and some heels and a bit of make-up and just feel that glamorous side," she said.

Jessica Ennis, Victoria Pendleton and Ellie Simmonds were awarded the British Ambassadors of the Year prize at a star-studded event at Claridges in London on Wednesday night.
