Missing April's headteacher: 'We are clinging to hope'

Report by Louise Hulland

April Jones' acting headteacher, Gwenfair Glyn, of Ysgol Gynradd Machynlleth, said the community is "clinging strongly" to the hope that she is alive.

The statement comes after a statement from the police on Friday morning, when they announced that suspect Mark Bridger had been arrested on suspicion of murder.

April disappeared on Monday evening, and the community in Machynlleth gathered with police and search teams in a desperate hunt for the five-year-old.

However April has still not been found and the police have revealed their investigation is now a murder inquiry.
