Touching footage of reunited gorilla brothers

Report by Lindsay Brown

A pair of gorilla brothers, Kesho and Alf, have welcomed each other with open arms after being reunited at Longleat Safari Park.

There were emotional scenes when the gorilla brothers, who had not seen each other for more than two years, were brought together again.

The brothers, who were born at Dublin Zoo, met up again at the new Gorilla Colony enclosure at the Wiltshire safari park.

At around 220kgs, 13-year-old western lowland silverback gorilla Kesho is a force to be reckoned with and keepers were unsure how he would react to meeting up with his nine-year-old younger brother, Alf.

Kesho was moved from Dublin to London Zoo as part of a captive breeding programme and had not seen his sibling since.
