A coach crashed and fell 30ft over a viaduct on Wednesday, injuring several passengers.
It happened at the junction of Brassknocker Hill and the A36 in Bath, the fire service said.
A total of nine people were on the coach, two of them were trapped and had to be rescued by firefighters.
Police, firefighters and paramedics were at the scene and the road was closed following the crash.
Avon Fire and Rescue Service said the two people who were trapped were released from the single-deck coach by firefighters using hydraulic cutting equipment.
The Great Western Ambulance Service said two of the injured people on board the coach were taken to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol while seven others went to the Royal United Hospital in Bath.
