A 15-year-old boy has died after falling into the sea during a family holiday in Wales.

The emergency services were called out on Wednesday night following reports of two males in the water in Llangennith, Swansea.

It is thought that the teenager fell off rocks into the sea while out fishing and his brother jumped in to try and save him.

A South Wales Police spokesman said: "We responded to reports of two males in the sea at Llangennith, Swansea, at around 8.20pm on Wednesday August 1.

"They were taken by helicopter to Morriston hospital where one of the males, aged 15, was pronounced dead.

"The other male, aged 21, remains in hospital."
