Dazzling Duchess: Kate sparkles at star-studded reception

Report by Geraldine Cooper

The Duchess of Cambridge sparkled as she chatted to the likes of Stella McCartney at a reception at the Royal Academy of Arts supported by Founders Forum.

She scored another fashion triumph in a dove grey Roksanda Ilincic dress and matching heels, with her hair tied back in a casual chignon.

Catherine was greeted by the Prime Minister when she arrived at the event which was designed to showcase Britain's capabilities and bring in investment and visitors.

She attended Monday's reception after spending the day watching Zara Phillips taking part in the equestrian events at the Olympics in Greenwich Park.

The Prime Minister made a speech to the 800 guests including celebrities, dignitaries and potential investors in Britain's creative industries.

Mr Cameron drew laughs as he recalled a conversation with Catherine's husband, the Duke of Cambridge at the London 2012 opening ceremony.

He said: "One of the highlights of the Olympic opening ceremony for me was during that very wow musical interlude when your husband leaned over and said, 'I don't know if you know this Prime Minister, but my grandmother is a big fan of Dizzee Rascal'."
