The Duchess of Cambridge has taken on a schoolgirl for a game of table tennis during a visit to a college in Rotherhithe, south east London.
Kate, who was wearing a white and grey Hobbs checked Wessex summer dress, came up against Hiba Feredj, the current English schools under-13 champion, and managed to win two points out of ten, prompting the teenager to say: "I never thought she would be that good".
When she met some youngsters playing judo she kicked off the wedges, stepped on to a blue gym mat to start a match and with a chopping motion said "Hajime", the Japanese word that traditionally kicks off a bout.
She later joined Harry and William on a five-a-side pitch where her husband had been meeting the coaches who will put new prospects through their paces under a new training project.
The Duchess kicked a ball despite her high heels and looked relaxed as she showed off her football skills in the sunshine.
