Bradley Wiggins says he has been overwhelmed by all the attention he has received since winning the Tour de France.
He returned to his Wigan home on Monday and has been seen with his wife Cath enjoying some brief time off following his victory in the gruelling 20 stage, 2,173-mile race.
Later on, he stopped by the side of the road to speak to reporters during a ride around his hometown.
"I didn't expect all of this...people stopping me every two seconds," he said.
"Though it's fantastic, I thought I'd come back and just be doing normal stuff like walking the dog!"
There are now calls for the cyclist to be awarded a knighthood - bookmaker Coral is offering 2/1 that he is Sir Bradley before the end of next year.
