Performers rehearse Olympic welcoming ceremony

Report by Sarah Johnston

Performers from the National Youth Theatre have been rehearsing a show to welcome the first teams arriving at the Olympic village.

Some 70 members of the NYT are taking part in the Team Welcome Ceremonies as 200 Olympic and 170 Paralympic teams begin arriving in London.

Members of the British armed forces also have a role in the celebrations, which is to present each team's national colours.

It is not the only event to show-off the country's talent, over a hundred performances are scheduled to take place before the games begin on the July 27.
