World champion ice skaters Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean have been cheered by thousands of people as they performed with the Olympic torch.

The 1984 Olympic gold medallists performed a three-minute routine with the lit torch at the National Ice Centre in Nottingham.

After their performance the pair passed the flame on to torchbearer Corporal Daniel Whittingham.

Cpl Whittingham, 26, was seriously injured when his vehicle hit an Improvised Explosive Device in Afghanistan three years ago.
