England are preparing to kick off their Euro 2012 campaign as underdogs against France.

Roy Hodgson's side are hoping to end a 46-year wait for a major trophy in the new managers first major test in an international tournament.

The team take on France at the 50,000-seater Donbass Arena in Donetsk, an industrial city initially founded in the 19th century by Welsh businessman John Hughes.

Les Bleus go into the match as strong favourites after a 21-game unbeaten run, while England are missing Wayne Rooney through suspension and have suffered a number of key injuries.
