Prince Harry has admitted he let his family down with the publication of naked Las Vegas photos, in a candid interview from Camp Bastion.
As well as acknowledging the mistake, he also used the opportunity to attack the tabloid press for their role in the debacle.
"I probably let myself down, let my family down, let other people down. But at the end of the day, I was in a private area," said the Prince, who has been outspoken in his attacks on the media.
"There should be a certain amount of privacy that one should expect. Back home everyone, you know, all my close friends rally around me, which was great."
Harry was deployed to Afghanistan four months ago, shortly after pictures of him frolicking naked with a nude woman at a hotel in Las Vegas were published around the world.
"It was probably a classic example of me being probably too much army and not enough prince. It's a simple case of that," he added.
"Yes, people may look at it, going, you know, it was letting off steam. It's all understandable now. You're going out to Afghanistan. The papers knew I was going out to Afghan anyway, so the way I was treated from them I don't think is acceptable, but hey."
