Kylie performs Locomotion for Charles and Camilla

Report by Melissa Nathoo

Kylie Minogue sang for the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall during a special reception at St James's Palace on Wednesday.

The event was to mark the royal couple's Diamond Jubilee tour of Australia, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand, which begins in November.

The pop princess was among the 200 guests who attended the reception, including comic Barry Humphries, soprano Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, broadcaster Rolf Harris, and former New Zealand rugby captain Sean Fitzpatrick.

As Kylie performed her hit song Locomotion, even Charles and Camilla joined in the movements for the song.

She also sang On A Night Like This and I Believe In You, and later described the experience as "terrifying but great".

Talking about the experience Camilla may have in Australia, Rolf Harris said: "I'm sure that she will love it. It's a fantastic country and the variety of things you can see, you can go to see, Uluru obviously, all the wild stuff, the kangaroos."
